We are proud to have been awarded an AmeriCorps State Formula Grant through a partnership with the Governers' Office of Children, Youth and Families of Arizona, serving under the Corporation for National and Community Service.
ACE and AmeriCorps have partnered to provide specialized training to young adults who are eager and determined to establish themselves as leaders in the field of conservation. ACE’s AmeriCorps members participate in a 6 month professional development program preparing them for outdoor careers with ACE, with other Conservation Corps, or with land management agencies such as the National Park Service, US Forest Service or Bureau of Land Management.
Our relationship with the AmeriCorps Program, through the Corporation for National and Community Service and the GOCYF, has allowed us to continuing ACE’s great partnerships with our National Parks, Forests and Monuments. Through those relationships our Members have been able to work directly under those organizations, working with leaders in the field of conservation, learning valuable knowledge and trade skills that will take them far in their personal careers.
Since 2009 our AmeriCorps program has thrived. Now in our third year, our AmeriCorps program has developed into a highly sought after position and we gratefully acknowledge the GOCYF for their direction and guidance.
ACE also has a partnership with the Northern Arizona University to host AmeriCorps members who are also actively involved in many types of environmental projects throughout Arizona.
Our relationship with the NAU AmeriCorps office started in 2005 and continues to grow. Through this partnership ACE and NAU have trained future land stewards and enriched the lives of individuals in our local community. Since 2005, ACE has had approximately 50 members complete the AmeriCorps program.
