Volunteer Feedback

"This is Karin Johansson from Sweden. I was working as a volunteer from end of May 2004. At the moment I am studying in Finland and will do so for another year. I'm in an Outdoor Education wilderness guide program, a really nice school and we get to spend most of our time in the mountains and being outdoors climbing, skiing and kayaking. Being in ACE really brought an interest for the outdoors so I kept on with it."
Karin Johansson, Sweden, Summer 04

"Hi Chris, I am currently studying photography and graphical design at a folk high school here in Denmark, and not a day passes without wishing to be back in America. ACE did indeed have a unique atmosphere. Best of luck with ACE CA!"
Morten Bang Jensen, Denmark, Fall 06

"Hey Tom, You'll have the best time of your life with ACE! I've been with ACE since August and I'm now in San Francisco for the Holiday's! I'll come back to Flagstaff on the 6th of January, so I guess I'll see you there! Good luck with sleeping, the night before you leave, because you have an amazing experience waiting for you, working with ACE!"
Joost, The Netherlands, Fall 06

"Hi everybody!! Wanted to wish you all a very happy new year. 2006 was great for me mostly thanks to what I lived with you all in ACE!! Hope 2007 will be great too and that every new volunteer will enjoy ACE as much as I did!! Thank you again and enjoy 2007!! "
Camille, France, Fall 06

"I have reflected on my time at ACE and I started to miss all my friends from there. I am very glad that I went to ACE, because I got lots of experience which has influenced my life very favourably. Thank you once more for that great time!!! All the stress in school is getting on my nerves, right now....I would rather be back in Flagstaff! I miss all the funny camping days during the projects and of course housing in Flagstaff. I am looking forward to come back after graduating from school!! Nevertheless, I wish you and all supervisors merry Christmas and a happy new year!!!"
Fabian Nusser, Germany, Fall 06

"I really had the time of my life, new exiting stuff going on all the time. I got to know so many cool people, and I like the relaxed feeling of Flagstaff. One of the reason why I started traveling the world was the uptight, stressed situation I felt when working in Sweden, so I thank you for making it possible for us to do the ACE experience."
Johan Eriksson, Sweden, Fall 06

"I just came back from Grand Canyon Trail project. I think it is the best project in ACE. I have had a really good time in ACE, I met many people from different countries, they were so nice and I made good friends. I say it is an international friendship. I hope, I am sure, that ACE will go on forever and be developed to a bigger association. If I have chance, I want come back here again."
Choi, Sungho, Korea, Fall 06

"My time at ACE has been superb, I'm so glad I came. I guess you hear this quite often, but you meet great people, get to see amazing places and even the work is cool, it's a win-win situation, as long as you have good projects with good supervisors, which you have."
Arthur Broadbent, UK, Fall 06

"Chris, thank you so much for everything. I had a wonderful time with ACE. I wish you all the best of luck with ACE and especially project California. I hope it will be as great a success as ACE Arizona and your visions will keep coming true. Take care of yourself and ACE. Good luck with everything."
Belgin Yigen, Denmark, Summer 06

"I just wanted to drop you a message to say 'thank you'. Now I've been home a few weeks I've had a chance to reflect on my time at ACE and I can't begin to say how beneficial it was to me, and how much I learnt from it. I think I can say it was just about the most important three months of my life."
Matt Taylor, UK, Summer 06

"Back in Germany and I just want to say thank you for the last awesome 6 weeks I spent with ACE. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay longer. Thanks for everything!"
Birgit Kunz, Germany, Summer 06

"Thank you for a great time in Flagstaff and on ACE projects. The apartments were like a home to me so it was very difficult for me to leave the place and the ACE people. Friday night I had to say goodbye to the last ACE-people Julian, Vanessa and Sarah in the airport in Phoenix. The people I knew best after my time in Flagstaff. It was very sad, but without ACE I never would have meet these people. So I am thankful for this. It was a nice time and I enjoyed the work and the heat. It's awful to be back in Denmark with cold weather and to complete my studies. I prefer a week or two more in Bryce Canyon."
Soren Mouridsen, Denmark, Summer 06

"Hi everybody. I wanted to say goodbye to all of you. I had a blast there. I miss you all, even if I'm in a beautiful and sunny country, living close to the beach, having parties all the time, surrounded by lots of good looking boys and eating good food. But I miss the wilderness and the open spaces and that huge bright sky. Kisses from barcelona!"
Ana Garcia Claver, Spain, Summer 06

"I've been back now for two weeks, well into my studies again. I didn't have a chance to see you and thank you personally before I left, so here goes: Thank you Chris. I had an amazing time in ACE. Great work you've done with it! Hopefully I'll have a chance to return to ACE later in life. I surely would enjoy that!"
Ronja Kasvinen, Finland, Summer 06

"I just wanted to say thanks for the opportunities provided by ACE and let you know how great a time I had during my eight weeks. Thanks again."
Jordan Rolfe, UK, Summer 06

"I really, really enjoyed my time with ACE and that I was able to get such beautiful experiences and memories which will always stay in my heart. ACE really gave me the opportunity to see my own limits and to experience a totally new world."
Laurent Reuter, Luxembourg, Summer 06

"I am sad to be away from ACE, it was an unforgettable experience and I learned so much. Thank you for everything."
Megan Peterson, USA, Summer 06

"Right when I got back to France, I started to miss Ace so much, I found it so hard to get used to "real life" again. I missed the incredibly good and cordial atmosphere in the apartments, the stunning and breath-taking landscapes, the hard but so much interesting work, the very strong team spirit during the projects, the constant sunny weather, the feeling of being so free, independent, young, and lucky when we were going on trips everywhere around, and above all the great people and friends I met and became close to during those three wonderful months. Now that I'm back home I realize how much I've learned and grown during my time in the US, and I'd really, deeply, like to thank you Chris Baker, and everybody else for giving me the great opportunity of living the amazing American Conservation Experience !!"
Caroline Le Grand, France, Spring 06

"I want to thank ACE for existing, it's the kind of experience many young people were dreaming about before you created it. It's just wonderful and such a thrilling experience for me that I couldn't help convincing all the people I could to join you."
Nicolas Peyrelongue, France, Spring 06

"I just wanted to thank you for the two wonderful months at ACE. I went to ACE to have a new experiences and a different way of life.
