Position Description: Every year, the BLM Wyoming State Office participates in one of the largest outreach events in the state, Cheyenne Frontier Days. The internship would consist of developing an outreach campaign and event plan for the BLM’s General Land Office and Wild Horse Adoption. Not only would the intern plan the event, but they would also run the even the last week of July and be the primary point of contact among BLM employees who participate in the event. Cheyenne Frontier Days has thousands of visitors from around the world who we have the opportunity to visit with educate on the BLM’s multiple-use mission. This year, the BLM will focus on historic hunting and fishing activities in Wyoming and how that compares to today’s commercial recreation. The BLM will also focus on the traditional grazing use on public lands that began when people homesteaded after traveling west on the national historic trails. During the outreach event, BLM employees will stress the importance of service the American family and how we contribute to the economy in a variety of ways, including energy needs.
