Fully-Equipped, Self-Sufficient Teams
A Reflection by ACE Member Kelsey Rivera
“After finishing, I’ll reflect on the best times I’ve had working at El Yunque National Forest. There are plenty of hard days here, but the most gratifying parts are the days working as a team with some of the best people and work environment I’ve had the privilege to be a part of.â€

Ava, a public speaking star 🌟
As an Interpretation Member with ACE EPIC at the John Muir National Historic Site, Ava leads tours, builds visitor programs, and works alongside NPS rangers, but the growth that`s stuck with her most is public speaking.
"I entered this internship feeling almost `timid` interacting with the public. Now I`m giving thirty to forty minute tours, and I`m so much more confident."

Last week, Kylie Newland joined us to talk about their role as a Cultural Resources Digital Data and Multimedia Collections Member with California State Parks, and gave us a look into the world of repatriation work happening across the state.
A great reminder that conservation isn`t just habitat and trail work. It`s also protecting the history and cultural heritage tied to these lands.

It’s World Ranger Day 💚
Rangers keep our public lands safe and open for everyone, and the job is a lot bigger than most people realize. Conservation corps and rangers are better together, and we`re proud to work alongside them on some of the most-needed projects in our parks.
We appreciate Rangers for all they do and honor those who have given their lives in service of our public lands.
